As Oscar night quickly approaches, the biggest names in show business were spotted out on the town for the festivities leading up to Sunday night’s Academy Awards. On Friday night (February 20), two of the more well-attended fetes included Women in Film’s pre-Oscar cocktail party at a private residence in Bel Air and a star-studded soiree at Cecconi’s restaurant.
Mandy Moore Talks Engagement

It’s one of the more unlikely pairings in Tinseltown, but Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams’ engagement is official. And today on the Bonnie Hunt Show, Mandy says she’s thrilled about her betrothal. After being congratulated by Hunt, the “All Good Things Singer” gushes, “Thank you, I appreciate it. I am very happy.”
Baseball To Get 10th Inning

Filmmaker Ken Burns is adding a 10th inning to baseball. Well, in his documentary, at least. Burns originally produced a 9 part series on America’s favorite pastime in the ’90s. Baseball debuted in 1994. Tracking the more contemporary history of baseball from 1993 to 2008, The Tenth Inning will air in 2010 on PBS with a rebroadcast of the original 9 parts. Play ball! The queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey , revealed to Access Hollywood that she wants to do a one-on-one interview with Britney Spears . Britney is so lucky! O deems her worthy enough of one-on-one time! Super O said that the more personal one-on-one format is more suitable for the pop princess. An interview in front of the audience would be too performance-ish. C’mon, manager Larry and Daddy Spears!
