Gwyneth Paltrow: Schoolhouse Pick-Up

Getting used to life on the west coast, Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted picking up her children, Moses and Apple Martin, from school in Santa Monica on Tuesday (April 21). The Oscar winning actress and her family are staying in Los Angeles as Gwyneth works on the sequel to her box office hit, “Iron Man”. In related news, recent reports tell that Miss Paltrow is auctioning off part of her extensive wardrobe to raise money for the Robin Hood Foundation, which helps fight poverty in New York. “Gwyneth is a neighbor of ours and is obviously familiar with what we do,” auction supervisor, Phillip Davies, told the Daily Star. “She had a big clear-out of her wardrobe and wants to raise money for one of the charities she’’s involved in. There are some amazing pieces from Jimmy Choo to Lanvin to Balenciaga,” Davies added. 

Britney Spears: Engagement Rumors

As she continues her successful comeback tour, it seems Britney Spears may be secretly planning another wedding- this time to millionaire land developer John Sundahl. Miss Spears met the 40-year-old real estate agent during a 2007 stint in rehab, and after they reconnected at her New Jersey concert last week Sundahl supposedly proposed to the “Gimme More” singer. A source close to the situation told press, “Britney and John used to date, but they reconnected after her show in New Jersey, and now they’re engaged. He got down on one knee in a Subway sandwich shop in Santa Monica a week ago and proposed with a $4.5 million marquise-cut diamond that he bought at a Frankfurt jewelry store.” The source continued, “They plan on getting married at his aunt’s farm in Germany in six weeks. It’s very hush-hush, even to the employees. He’s even putting a $350K fence around the property.” And Sundahl is keeping hush-hush about the whole ordeal. “I don’t want to talk about that.  Britney doesn’t want to do anything until the tour is over. She wants press for her tour and not for an engagement.” Of course, a Spears rep denied the whole thing. “Britney is not engaged, she did not get proposed to at Subway last week – she is currently on tour – she is not getting married on a farm in Germany, she did not receive a $4.5 million marquise-cut diamond ring. Oh, and she has not been abducted by aliens either.”

Jake Gyllenhaal: Morning Bicyclist

Getting a strong morning workout, Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted partaking in a bike ride with a friend in Santa Monica on Monday morning (April 13). The “Brokeback Mountain” hunk sported his biker shades with a longsleeve white and black top with black biker shorts and a sporty helmet for safety. The bicycling outing comes amidst a break in the action for Mr Gyllenhaal, as he has completed working on three new projects – among them, a new film called “Nailed”. Due out later this year, the David O. Russell directed political satire is “about a naive small town waitress who accidentally gets a nail buried in her head, causing erratic and outrageous behavior that leads her to Washington DC. There she falls for a dashing, but clueless, Congressman who searches for the courage to save her.”

Rihanna: Recording Queen

Continuing to work on her new album, Rihanna was spotted making her way to a Santa Monica recording studio on Friday night (April 10). The “Take a Bow” songstress looked a bit out of it as she strolled past the paparazzi, sporting a black jacket over a white top with charcoal denim shorts, and black boots. And while Ri-Ri is focusing on her career, her battering ex-boyfriend Chris Brown is focusing on his ex-girlfriend Erica Jackson with whom he’s reportedly rekindled his romance. An insider told press, “[Chris and Erica] met in Virginia, where he’s from. They dated back in the day and reconnected a few weeks ago when Chris was in town. They’ve been spending a lot of time together, but things only really heated up over the last two weeks.” A source close to Rihanna says this won’t be welcome news.  “She is going to be pissed!  Ri is going to be so hurt that Chris has moved on so quickly and is parading this new girl around town.”

LeAnn Rimes: Sleepy in Santa Monica

Making the most of the lovely weather, LeAnn Rimes was spotted getting some fresh air during an afternoon stroll yesterday in Santa Monica (April 8). The “How Do I Live” songstress looked cute and casual as she meandered around town, offering up a big yawn while sporting a light blue scoopneck shirt with distressed jeans and sunglasses. As for the drama surrounding her rumored extra-marital affair, LeAnn is doing fine according to fellow singer Kellie Pickler. In a recent interview, Pickler told press, “She’s amazing.  It’s just something you have to, I guess, kind of take with the business.  There’s always gonna be people that say wonderful things about you and then you’re gonna have those people that say awful things.  So, you just surround yourself with people that love you and pray for you and support you.”

Kendra Wilkinson Starts Her Own Stripper Pole Line

So I always knew Kendra Wilkinson was about equivalent with a pack of bologna in the mental department, but at least she is coming out with a line other fragance or clothes – stripper poles! At least it’s up her alley. “I’m coming out with my own stripper pole. Stripper pole, and stripper pole workout,” The Girls Next Door star, 23, told Usmagazine.com at the American Red Cross Red Tie Affair in Santa Monica Saturday. “It’s like Carmen Electra’s, but mine is better,” she continued. “Mine will connect to the ceiling, and you can spin on it and do all that stuff on it.” Wow – I’m out of the loop! Reese Witherspoon: More Box Office Success

Getting in a little weekend retail therapy, Reese Witherspoon was spotted doing some shopping in Santa Monica, California yesterday (March 29). The “Sweet Home Alabama” sweetie looked to be in good spirits as she meandered around several shops, sporting a beige hat, cardigan, and distressed jeans with sandals. Reese’s latest flick “Monsters vs. Aliens” is a huge hit at the box office, pulling in $55.2 million in its first weekend, and making it the biggest debut so far this year. It sounds like Miss Witherspoon owes a debt of gratitude to her kids Ava and Deacon who reportedly pushed her to take on the voice role.

Carson Daly Debuts Baby Jackson James

Showing off his bundle of joy for the first time, Carson Daly took his newborn son Jackson James Daly for a morning stroll through his Santa Monica neighborhood on Saturday (March 28). Also out on what was a warm and sunny day was Carson’s longtime girlfriend, Siri Pinter, who already looked to be in tremendous shape following childbirth. The couple welcomed young Jackson into the world just two weeks ago, as Siri gave birth to the 7 lb., 8 oz. son on March 15th. At the time, Daly’s rep told press: “Parents are both ecstatic. They have a happy and healthy baby boy.”

Reese Witherspoon Snaps Back in Santa Monica

Not in the best of moods on this particular day, a slightly peeved Reese Witherspoon was spotted making her way around Santa Monica on Saturday (March 28). Yelling at paparazzi following closeby, the 33-year-old actress allegedly grabbed up one of the shutterbug’s camera’s – unwilling to give it back as she made her way to her nearby car. The weekend outing coincides with the recent release of Reese’s new animated flick, “Monsters vs. Aliens” – which hit theaters just yesterday. Asked what drew her to the film, the bubbly blonde replied: “Its message. I think it’s great that this movie has a message that no matter how weird you feel you definitely have a place in this world and sometimes that can be your greatest benefit. I thought it was a great evolution of a character who starts out as sort of this 1950s, very innocent, sweet girl and she has to find her inner strength to realize she has to be responsible for herself and ultimately save herself and save the world.”
