FAMILY GUY "Something, Something, Something Dark Side" Review
May 23, 2010 by Sebastin · Leave a Comment
I got my hands on the DVD of the FAMILY GUY “Something, Something, Something Dark Side” (which was released back in December 2009) which is also the one-hour season finale airing this Sunday, May 23rd at 9 PM/8C on Fox. The episode is another Star Wars themed episode, focusing mostly on “The Empire Strikes Back”. People are going to love this hour long Star Wars spoof/season finale. I don’t want to give too much away as I think it would really spoil the experience for you guys so I’ll just tell you the basics. The finale features Peter and Lois as Solo and Leia, Chris as Sky Walker, Stewie as Vader (of course) and Meg…well Meg basically gets screwed in the finale. Also, Brian plays Chewy, and Quagmire plays C-3PO. There will also be some new characters in “Something, Something, Something Dark Side”. You’ll get to see Mort Goldman as Lando Calrissian, Chris’s Boss as Yoda (which was maybe the best part of the whole episode), and the Chicken as Boba Fett. The plot is what you’d expect; Solo and crew take on Darth Vader and the empire. Except this time, Vader is a likable neat-freak with a sassy maid. Also, the Empire are oddly likable as well; they even have their own infomercial. In short, be prepare to see a new, hilarious take on an old story. Also, if you buy the finale on DVD (which I highly recommend), you won’t get any of the f-bombs bleeped out (you can get your copy on Amazon ). The DVD also contains some pretty sweet extras including a sneak peek at “Family Guys-Episode VI: We Have a Bad Feeling About This Table Read” and audio commentary by Executive Producers Seth MacFarlane, Mark Hentemann and David. A. Goodman, Writer Kirker Butler, Director Dominic Polcino and Actor Seth Green. Again, you can check out the Family Guy finale Sunday May 23rd at 9 PM/8C on Fox!
