Joel Madden Gives Benji Madden A Run For His Money
May 12, 2009 by Sebastin · Leave a Comment
Last month I posted a few photos of Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden showing off his crazy buff bod here in SoCal and today we get to see that his twin brother and GC frontman Joel Madden is getting in on the action. Here are a couple pics of Joel out and about here in LA yesterday showing off his buff arms in the warm Cali sun: Now, I am not one to pit brother against brother but … which Madden twin do you think is rockin’ the hotter arms? Do you have a fave? Do you think Josh Madden , the twins’s older brother, should get in on the act? [Photo credit: X17 ]
Filming Continues On The Set Of ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’

Yesterday we got our first look at Helena Bonham Carter in the role of Bellatrix Lestrange on the London set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows … and today we get to see a few more pics from the set. This time, we get to see principal stars Daniel Radcliffe ( Harry Potter ) and Emma Watson ( Hermoine Granger ) chillin’ on the set in between takes … and another photo of Bellatrix being her usual evil self: There are other more spoilery photos but I don’t want to post too many pics this early in the filming. We’ve got plenty of time to see little teaser pics from the set. Deathly Hallows is going to be an epic film, I can just feel it. The book itself is too huge to be contained by just one movie. The film will prolly be the one Harry Potter movie that will contain almost all of the best bits from the book. Previously, the films had to cut content to fit in the time constraints. This 2 part film will have lots of time to do the final Harry Potter book justice. But … while all of this Hallows talk is very exciting, we still have The Half-Blood Prince to look forward to this Summer. So much Harry Potter !! Woot! [Photo credit: Splash News ]
Courtney Love Sports Some Fancy Headwear
May 12, 2009 by Sebastin · Leave a Comment
Courtney Love showed up at the famed Chateau Marmont yesterday afternoon to meet up with some friends and showed off some fancy new headwear in the process. C. Love looked quite fetching, I think, in her red knit Scandinavian hat … But it was when she took off the hat that the problem began to show. I don’t know anyone who even owns a hair crimping iron anymore but, clearly, Courtney is madly in love with hers. Poodle hair rarely looks good on poodles so I don’t know why she thought the look would work for her. There has still been no word on whether or not she plans to release that album she was supposed to release back on January 1 of this year. Perhaps she’s been too bizzy crimping her hair to bother with releasing new albums. [Photo credit: X17 ]
‘Star Trek’ Premieres In Japan

Members of bridge crew of the new Starship Enterprise were on hand at Shinjuku Milano One in Tokyo for the Japanese premiere of the new JJ Abrams film Star Trek which opens in the Land of the Rising Sun on May 29. Here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals at last night’s premiere (which, due to the time difference, actually took place “today” in Japan): Yes, that is a replica of the USS Starship Enterprise NCC-1701 on the red carpet with the actors. These pics were too fun not to post … you can tell that everyone was very happy to be promoting the film in Japan … and with good reason. It’s doing very well here in the US. Folks in Japan have a great movie to look forward to. I’ve already seen the film twice and I’m itching to see it one more time … in IMAX . I’m anxious to see that Chris Pine underwear scene on the jumbo screen

Kevin Federline Surfaces In Vancouver
May 12, 2009 by Sebastin · Leave a Comment
Kevin Federline and his ladyfriend Victoria Prince were spotted on the streets of Vancouver, BC Canada over the weekend. At first, it was assumed that the couple were just bummin’ around town trying to blend amongst the vagrant community but, according to K-Fed , he informed the paparazzi that he was in town to work on a new film. Surely, he was kidding … right? Actually … he wasn’t kidding. Pink reader Susan informs me that K-Fed was cast as a day-player in the new straight-to-DVD American Pie movie (the 7th in the series) titled Book of Love . It turns out that The Federline was cast as a Canadian Border Patrol Guard and his entire contribution to this piece of cinematic artistry filmed and wrapped last Friday. Oh yeah, this movie sounds like a winner. Well, now that K-Fed is making his own money again, mebbe he can stop begging Britney Spears for more alimony . [Photo credit: X17 ; thanks Susan ]
The Detroit Red Wings Look To Finish Off The Anaheim Ducks In Game 6
May 12, 2009 by Sebastin · Leave a Comment
Last night David and I had a pizza night here at home where we lounged around watching reruns of Friends while stuffing our faces with pizza-goodness. It was one of those perfect, stay-at-home nights
But tonight looks to be a bit more exciting. I’m venturing down with a few friends (mostly Ducks fans) to the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup playoffs to watch the Detroit Red Wings take on the Ducks on their home turf: The Wings handily defeated the Ducks in Game 5 back in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena to take a 3-2 lead in the series. If they win tonight, they win the series. If not, the teams go back to Detroit for Game 7. I’m *really* hoping the Wings win tonight so I can celebrate with them tonight
Cross those fingers and toes for my Detroit boys in red
I’ll be doing as much tweeting as I can from the game … tonight promises to be fun beyond belief!

Tori Amos Is ‘Acoustically Attracted To Sin’
May 12, 2009 by Sebastin · Leave a Comment
Tori Amos was on hand at The Savoy Theater in London, England last night to play a rescheduled concert called Acoustically Attracted to Sin in support of her new album Abnormally Attracted to Sin which is due out on May 19. Pink reader Kush was lucky enough to be in attendance at last night’s performance and graciously shares a very extensive review of the show. Here are a few photos from Tori ’s acoustic concert (which essentially means she had no backing band) last night along with Kush ’s very detailed review: The first thing I have to say I have seen Tori many times but I have never heard her sing so perfectly – Her voice was incredibly powerful, she hit every note and had perfect diction – She seemed to really enjoy being back in front of an audience again accompanied with her Bosendorfer and a keyboard. She wore black leggings under a red dress embroidered with black stars. The opening track was a total surprise – a cover of Leonard Cohen’s Famous Blue Raincoat. There must have been a reason for this as it was an extremely heartfelt and heartbreaking performance (it definitely wasn’t the London weather which was bright and breezy). Lady in Blue is certain to become a favourite of solo sections – I’ve only heard the i-tunes snippet of the album version and this sounded totally different – stripped down and harsh. This track twinned perfectly with another new song Curtain Call (appropriate for the theatre setting). Tori straddled her stool to play both keyboard and piano for Crucify which was welcomed with a huge round of applause from the audience. The next moment was another terrific surprise. Its been a long time since we’ve heard Tori enjoyed chatting to the audience and it was a welcome return – She is just SO funny. Apologising for the ‘crap’ cancelling of the show two weeks ago, she also mentioned that she’d be seeing Matty and Jon in the next week and that they would definitely be touring with her later in the year. The rescheduling also brought a welcome surprise – Tori mentioned that she had a female security guard for the evening, called Sade after which she burst out a rendition of Sades Smooth Operator – This is going to be a must-hear! After the mischief of Leather, the audience was plunged into a soul-drenching performance of Maybe California which caused more than a few tears in the audience. My highlight of the evening was definitely the all -piano rendition of Taxi Ride: It was like the girl was wearing a new dress and without the reverberations of the Wurli it was simply lovely to hear each crystal clear word. Tori got back to mischief (and more chat) with Mary Jane. There has been a lot of love-hate around this song but I promise that after you hear it live – you’ll love it. The song really suits a theatre setting with its Weimar-esque melody. This was fun Tori and the audience burst into laughter at the line ‘I believe your puberty was somewhat strange…’ Jackie’s Strength was a perfect little gem as always while Wednesday was playfulness personified – At the end of each verse Tori teased with audience with gestures before breaking into the chorus. Keyboard and piano united for Welcome to England – Tori played a pounded a lot of lower notes during the chorus creating a dramatic tour de force – you could imagine Atlantic waves crashing against the Cornish coast providing a dramatic framing for the calmness of Cool on Your Island. As always Silent all these Years induced a huge round of applause, its mermaid theme exaggerated by blueish lighting including static streaks of blue. The main set closed with Barons of Suburbia reminding us that the much-maligned Beekeeper album has powerful and potent magic. Tori’s vocal excellence reached the levels of mesmerising majesty in the songs drawn out climax. The first and only encore included a beautiful rendition of Over the Rainbow followed by Putting the Damage On – The only damage tonight was magic was over far too soon. Sublime. Wow. It sounds like a truly spectacular performance. Much love goes out to Kush for such an amazingly detailed review … it really makes the reader feel as if they were there at The Savoy last night. Hearing this review really makes me anxious to see Tori Amos live in concert again. Folks who have preordered her album on iTunes will be granted early access to presale tickets for her upcoming tour … we should be hearing about those onsale dates soon. WEEEE! After the jump, check out the full setlist from Tori Amos ’s Acoustically Attracted to Sin performance last night … * Famous Blue Raincoat * Lady In Blue (AATS) * Curtain Call (AATS) * Crucify * Body Guard/Smooth Operator Improvisation * Leather * Maybe California (AATS) * Taxi Ride * Mary Jane (AATS) * Jackie’s Strength * Wednesday * Welcome To England (AATS) * Cool On Your Island * Silent All These Years * Barons of Suburbia Encore * Over The Rainbow * Putting The Damage On This is an effing great list of songs. I cannot wait for Tori to hit the road again. It shant be long now. Her new album drops next week!! It’s wonderful to be back in Tori Amos season once again. [ Source , thanks Kush ]
Sarah Michelle Gellar Begins Filming ‘The Wonderful Maladys’
May 12, 2009 by Sebastin · Leave a Comment
New mom-to-be Sarah Michelle Gellar , who we learned last month is pregs with her first child with hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr. , was spotted on the Upper West Side NYC set of her new HBO series The Wonderful Maladys this morning filming the first scenes for the series. Altho there is nary a bump to be seen in these photos, we know it’s under those loose-fitting clothes somewhere
Here are pics of SMG in her role as Alice Malady on set this AM: Except for the vocal work she did on the Cartoon Network series Robot Chicken (which was created by Buffyverse album Seth Green ), The Wonderful Maladys is SMG ’s first TV series since Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended in 2003 ( yikes! has it been that long already? ). Here’s hoping her stint on the new HBO series will be more successful than her attempt at a movie career. Now that she has a new mouth to feed on the way, well, having a job is a good idea in this economic environment. While I would really love for SMG to be slipping back into her vampire slayer threads, I am looking forward to seeing her on TV again. I’m hearing great things about the show.
